9:30am Adult Education-The Disciplines of Lent…In our Ash Wednesday Liturgy we were invited to struggle against everything that leads us away from love of God and neighbors by exercising the Discipline of Lent: repentance, fasting, prayer and works of love. These become the specific occasions and opportunities for spiritual renewal during this Lenten season of renewal. On each Sunday in Lent we will look at a different component of the Discipline of Lent: February 28 – Repentance, March 7 – Fasting, March 14 – Prayer, March 21 - Works of Love. Join us in the Chapel at 9:30am!

Resurrection Eggs & Jesse Tree Event for the entire congregation: Sunday, March 21st at 9:15am…Join us for this next Household Ministry Event to create Resurrection Eggs to help teach & observe the last days of Jesus’ life in the 12 days leading to Easter. We’ll create a “Jesse Tree” on which to hang the story reminders contained in the eggs. Cost: $8 covers all supplies. Supplies are limited so please sign up on the back of the blue worship cards no later than THIS Sunday, March 14th. Make checks payable to “Trinity Lutheran Youth” and give to the church office. For those who already have Resurrection Eggs but want to make a Jesse Tree, bring your eggs and join us!
Lily Orders…It’s the time to start thinking about Easter lilies! If you would like to purchase a lily to help decorate the church for Easter Sunday, we will start taking orders on THIS Sunday, March 14th. Look for a stack of order forms in the narthex on Sunday morning. Cost is $9.50 a lily, and they will be available to take home AFTER the 10:30am worship service on Easter, April 4th.
Health Kits for Lutheran World Relief… People who must flee their homes quickly during a disaster do not have time to pack essential items. Lutheran World Relief Health Kits can help these people maintain personal hygiene while living in exile. As a Lenten Discipline, the Afternoon Circle will be collecting items for health kits. Please leave items in the designated box in the narthex or checks may be left with the church office. Make checks payable to Trinity with “Health Kits” on the memo line. LWR’s approximate cost to handle and ship one LWR Health Kit overseas is $2.65. This includes the cost of toothpaste that is added to the kit at the warehouse. The following items are included in one health kit.
(NO TOOTHPASTE, PLEASE)
1 hand towel, dark color
1 washcloth, dark color

Haiti Relief Donations…There are still several ways you can make donations to help the relief efforts in Haiti. And if you are a Thrivent member, Thrivent is matching donations members make to ELCA Disaster Response or Lutheran World Relief. Donations can be made in the following ways:
Direct to ELCA disaster relief at www.elca.org/disaster or 800-638-3522
Direct to Lutheran World Relief by texting “LWR” to 40579. This makes a $10 donation that appears on your cell phone bill.
Through Thrivent at Thrivent.com/helpinghaiti or 1-800-236-2736. (You MUST do it this way to get the Thrivent match if you are a member) When prompted after calling, please say "directory" then enter ext. 83003. (donation can be made to LWR or ELCA Disaster Response this way and will include the match)
By writing a check to Trinity with “Haiti” in the memo. We’ll compile these donations and send them in. Thanks!
Note: Trinity will be collecting items for health kits starting in March, too. Stay tuned for more information on this in the March Holy Post.

LOFT Babysitting Night…Parents, don’t forget that the LOFT Youth are offering another Babysitting Night on Saturday, February 13th at Trinity 5:30-9:30pm. A freewill offering will be collected and funds raised are to help the youth going to Puerto Rico this summer to lead a Day Camp.
Ash Wednesday Worship at 12noon…Since the Golden West Communion Service is happening at Golden West on Wednesday, February 17th (Ash Wednesday) and will be a full Ash Wednesday worship with Imposition of Ashes, Trinity is trying out a new 12noon worship on Ash Wednesday ONLY so folks can come to worship over their lunch break. Please consider coming and invite your friends and co-workers for worship at Trinity that day. We will also be offering our usual 7pm Worship on Ash Wednesday, February 17th, in the evening as well. All services will include Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.
