Saturday, December 5thTree Cutting & Lights of December Parade…Make sure your calendar is marked to join us THIS Saturday, December 5th at Trinity.
**At 8am, we’ll be meeting to head up into the mountains to cut down our sanctuary Christmas Tree, bring it back to Trinity, and decorate it with lights. We need 25 folks to make this happen, so everyone’s help is appreciated! Please be at Trinity right at 8am as we LEAVE at 8am!
**If you can’t help with the tree cutting, meet us at Trinity at 8:30am to help organize and layout the lights. The fellowship committee will be providing us with soup and bread to help us keep up our energy.
**Then at 12noon we’ll begin building the Float for the Lights of December Parade. If you have zip ties or staple gun & staples, bring those to help us decorate the float.
**At 5pm, the youth will meet at Trinity to costume up to ride on the float, and after the parade, we’ll meet back at Trinity for cookies and hot chocolate. It’s a super fun holiday tradition, so plan to be a part of it all!

THIS Sunday, December 6th is the Second Sunday in Advent. Our worship lessons will be: Malachi 3:1-4; Luke 1:68-79; Philippians 1:3-11 and Luke 3:1-6. Check out the schedule and be sure to join us!

Stewardship Commitment Cards Due…Please make sure to bring back your 2010 Stewardship Commitment cards on THIS Sunday. The Stewardship Committee would like everyone’s card back, so please be sure to bring your’s on Sunday and place it in the basket in the center aisle as you come up for Communion. The cards will be blessed as a part of the worship service. Thanks!

Giving Tree Names Available…THIS Sunday, Giving Tree Names will be available to be picked up. These are names of folks from our mission partner, Good Shepherd Lutheran Daycare in Denver. We are asking folks to spend $30-35 per name they take. Gifts will then need to be returned, wrapped and bagged, on Sunday, December 20th. Questions, see Lynn Twietmeyer.

9:15/9:30am Sunday School Classes …Sunday School Opening resumes this week at 9:15am and classes downstairs at 9:30am at THIS Sunday, December 6th.

9:30am Adult Education resumes…THIS Sunday starts a new Adult Education Class on Between the Testaments. Come and learn some of the things that happened between the writing of the Old Testament and the New Testament. Join us in the Chapel at 9:30am.

12:00pm LOFT Puerto Rico Trip Meeting…THIS Saturday at 12noon, all the LOFT Youth and their parents are invited to a very important meeting. We will be talking about fundraising and other important trip details. Lunch will be provided. Questions, see Becca.

3:30pm ELCA Bishop Online Town Hall Meeting…THIS Sunday at 3:30pm, ELCA’s Bishop Mark Hanson will be holding an online town hall meeting. Check out more at www.elca.org, including how you can participate.

4:00pm Boulder Renaissance Consort Concert…The Boulder Renaissance Consort will again present their annual Christmas Concert in Trinity’s Chapel on THIS Sunday, December 6th at 4pm. Tickets will be available at the door. Questions, see Valerie.

FREE CU Men’s Basketball Tickets…By participating in the Lights of December Parade, Trinity has been able to get 20 FREE tickets to THIS Monday, December 7th CU Men’s Basketball Game vs. Colorado Christian College at the Coors Event Center. The game is at 7pm. If you are interested in any of these tickets, please email Melanie in the church office. They are available first come, first serve until they are gone and will not be available for pick up until Sunday morning.

Holiday Meal on Sunday, December 13th…Trinity is serving lunch to those in need again on December 13th and would like to once again treat our guests to a special holiday meal, just as we did at Easter. We need your help. We need donations of turkeys, hams, potato dishes, vegetable dishes, desserts, jello salad, etc – as well as donations of your time to help with cooking and serving on that Sunday. Accepting Orders for Christmas Poinsettias…If you would like to celebrate this holy season by purchasing poinsettias to share with your Trinity family, now is the time to place your order. Order forms are on the back of the Sunday morning blue worship cards. Cost is $8.00 each. Poinsettias will be used in the church through Christmas Day worship. After then, they can be taken home or shared with members of our church who are not able to attend worship. Final Sunday to order is December 20th! Questions, see Melanie in the office.

Items Needed for Caroling Goody Bags…Trinity is also collecting teas, cookies, snacks, and other goodies to use to make Goody Bags to be taken to the homebound when we go caroling on Sunday, December 20th. If you have something to contribute, look for the wrapped box in the narthex to drop off your items, and mark your calendars and plan to join us on Sunday, December 20th.

Upcoming Dates
Men’s Retreat on January 29th-30th…Trinity Men invite you to join them for a retreat entitled “Faith-Filled Transitions.” We will learn how our faith has helpful insights to the process of transition. Although the retreat is not until the end of January, we need your registrations by Sunday, December 20th. Please look for the blue registration forms on the heater in the narthex.
