Trinity Men’s Retreat….THIS weekend, 25 men from Trinity will be gathering in Allenspark for a time to learn about life’s Transitions and how our faith plays a vital role in them. Please keep the men and the group’s presenters in your prayers for a safe and spirit-filled time. They will return around dinnertime on Saturday evening.

THIS Sunday, January 31st is 4th Sunday after Epiphany. Our worship lessons will be: Jeremiah 1:4-10; Psalm 71:1-6; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 and Luke 4:21-30. Be sure to join us!

* 2009 Year-end Financials (We ended the year in the black, the Council will have recommendations for the excess)
*Report on the findings of Trinity Horizon regarding the next 5 years
*Presentation from the Memorial Committee regarding a Columbarium
*Presentation and recommendation from the Council for a process for our congregation to come to a decision regarding the blessing of same-gender lifelong monogamous relationships

The Souper Bowl of Caring…This national event, held every year on the same Sunday as the NFL's Super Bowl, is led by youth who collect money or canned food to support local, national and international anti-hunger efforts. Trinity’s high school youth will again be collecting food and non-food items for Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) after the 8 am and 10:30 am services on Sunday, February 7th. They will be collecting shampoo, peanut butter, pasta, lemonade mix, canned chili, and breakfast cereal.

Ushers Needed for 10:30am Worship…We are looking for one additional usher to join the 10:30am worship usher team for the 4th Sunday of the month and another for the 2nd Sunday of the month. If you are interested in helping out with this very important ministry, please speak to Steve Smith, head usher or Melanie in the church office. Thanks!

Haiti Relief Donations…If you haven’t heard, there are several ways you can make donations to help the relief efforts in Haiti. And if you are a Thrivent member, Thrivent is matching donations members make to ELCA Disaster Response or Lutheran World Relief. Donations can be made in the following ways:

10 Cup Coffeemaker Needed…If you have a gently-used 10-cup coffeemaker that you are no longer using, we are looking for one to use in the church basement kitchen. If you have one to donate, please let the church office know. Thanks!

Save the Date: January 31st-Congregational Meeting…Make sure your calendar is marked to join us immediately after the 10:30 worship service for our Congregational Meeting. We’ll review our 2009 Financials for Year End, and get a report from Trinity Horizons. Childcare and food will be provided to sustain us.

THIS Friday, January 15th
4:00pm Middle School Youth Gathering….13 middle schoolers and 4 adult leaders from Trinity will be heading to Colorado Springs for the weekend to join 1,000 other Middle School youth and adult leaders from the Rocky Mountain Synod. The group will worship together, do service projects, and spend time in faith and fellowship. Please pray for this gathering to be spirit-filled and for everyone to arrive and return home safely. Trinity’s group will return at 1pm on Sunday.

THIS Friday & Saturday, January 15th & 16th
Church Council Retreat…THIS weekend, Trinity’s Church Council will be meeting for a retreat to plan for the upcoming year and to prepare for the Congregational Meeting on January 31st. Please keep our lay leaders in your prayers this weekend that this may be a productive and spirit-filled time.

THIS Sunday, January 17th is 2nd Sunday After Epiphany. Our worship lessons will be: Isaiah 62:1-5; Psalm 36:5-10; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and John 2:1-11. Be sure to join us!

9:30am Adult Education… This Sunday, the new study continues entitled Everyday Faith. The Adult Education class will spend the month of January looking at our faith in the context of our everyday life. Using headlines and stories from the newspaper we will discuss how we look at current events through the eyes of our faith. Come and join the conversation and discussion at 9:30am in the Chapel.

12:30pm ENNNR Gathering for Carpooling…THIS Sunday, the ENNNR’s are going snowshoeing at Caribou Ranch and then going to the Lamprecht house in Nederland for chili dinner. Snowshoers are to meet at Trinity at 12:30pm to carpool up together. Those who just want to come for dinner should meet at the Lamprechts at 4pm for chili. 9:30am Piecemakers….Piecemakers will be meeting THIS Saturday in the fellowship hall to work on quilts. This month, we will be working on therapy blankets and you don’t have to know how to sew to help! Piecemakers meet the 2nd Saturday of every month. Come downstairs to the Fellowship Hall immediately after the 10:30 worship, and you’ll be finished at 2pm. Thanks!
