The youth’s last meal will be lunch on Friday and we’ll break the fast with communion and dinner together on Saturday evening. Members are welcome to fast along with the youth on their own to feel what its like to live hungry. The purpose of the Planned Famine includes learning about the causes and effects of hunger, experiencing hunger first hand, participating in a service project, helping to fight hunger, worship, fellowship and fun. The youth have decided to support ELCA Disaster Response for Haiti Relief efforts and the Malaria Initiative, working to end this preventable disease. If you missed supporting them the last few Sundays, you can still support their fundraising efforts on THIS Sunday, February 28th. Please keep the youth in your prayers this weekend for a safe, fun, and educational time during the famine.

THIS Sunday, February 28th is the Second Sunday in Lent. Our worship lessons will be Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18; Psalm 27; Philippians 3:17-4:1; Luke 13:31-35. Be sure to join us!

9:30am Adult Education-The Disciplines of Lent…In our Ash Wednesday Liturgy we were invited to struggle against everything that leads us away from love of God and neighbors by exercising the Discipline of Lent: repentance, fasting, prayer and works of love. These become the specific occasions and opportunities for spiritual renewal during this Lenten season of renewal. On each Sunday in Lent we will look at a different component of the Discipline of Lent: February 28 – Repentance, March 7 – Fasting, March 14 – Prayer, March 21 - Works of Love. Join us in the Chapel at 9:30am!
