Sunday Notes
Wear Red or Lutheran Apparel…THIS Sunday, October 31st is Reformation Sunday. To celebrate this day, we invite everyone to wear red or other Lutheran apparel to celebrate the continual reforming of the church.
9:15am Getting to Know Martin Luther thru Art…For Reformation Sunday, the Adult Education class is bringing you a special treat. Dee Watson, retired ELCA pastor, will be introducing us to Martin Luther and his wife Katie using pieces of classical art. NOTE: We’ll be starting at 9:15am (earlier time!) in the Chapel on THIS Sunday, October 31st.
11:45am Luther Day Celebration…Plan to stay after the 10:30am worship service as we celebrate Reformation Sunday Lutheran-style. We’ll have a Lutheran-style lunch (brats, sauerkraut, Jell-O, pretzels, rootbeer, and more), and a freewill donation will be collected to benefit Trinity’s Youth Community Fund. There will even be a visit from Martin Luther himself. The youth will also be continuing to offer Lutheran apparel (jackets, t-shirts, and license plate frames), too.
12:30pm Annual Meeting…After grabbing a brat from the Luther Day celebration, plan to stay for the Annual Meeting! The agenda includes approving the Ministry Spending Plan for 2011, electing Council Members and Nominations Committee for 2011, and hearing reports from Special Committees. Childcare (nursery) will be provided. Please be sure to plan to join us for this very important meeting! Minutes from the last Congregational Meeting are attached for your perusal prior to Sunday’s gathering.

Notes
Women’s Retreat Registrations Still Accepted…Women of Trinity (and their friends, neighbors, sisters, mothers, etc), you can still register for the Trinity Women’s Retreat, November 12th-14th . Cost is only $115 for the weekend! Please turn the purple registration forms into the church office by no later than THIS Sunday, October 31st!
Casas Registration Continues…We are now taking registrations for this fall’s Casas Mission Trip, November 20-23rd. We will be building two houses in Juarez, Mexico. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please speak to Rudy Deutschmann, Lynn Twietmeyer, or Pastor Mark. Yellow registration forms are in the narthex on the heater.
All Saints Names…As is our custom, the liturgy on All Saints' Sunday (November 7th) will include the Litany of Remembrance during which we will list the names of those who have joined the Church Triumphant. If you would like to have the name of your loved one included, please write the name on the back of the blue worship card. THIS Sunday, October 31st is the deadline for turning in names.
All Saints Faces… This year we want to surround ourselves with those who have joined the Church Triumphant and are the "cloud of witness" of Hebrews 12. So we invite you to bring to church a picture of your loved one as we make a display of the "cloud of witness" on the side walls of the sanctuary. A couple of things will be helpful as we create this display:
1. pictures only, no frames
2. for safety sake, you may want to bring in a copy of the original
3. write your name on the back of the picture
4. pictures may be brought in starting on NEXT Monday, November 1st and will remain up until after worship on November 21st
5. each person will be responsible for adding and removing their own picture [tape will be available for you to place your loved one's picture on the display]
We invite and encourage you to be a part of this year's celebration of All Saints. Questions may be addressed to Karen Lamprecht, Melanie Nehls Burow, or Pastor Mark
