THIS Saturday, December 4th
It’s a busy day at Trinity! Be sure not to miss any of the activities…
8:00am Christmas Tree Cutting & Decorating…
We will meet in the church parking lot, and leave from there at 8:00am sharp on Saturday to cut down the tree, bring it back to Trinity, and put it up in the sanctuary. If you aren't able to help cut down the tree you can still come to church at 8:30 am and help Jacque Johnson get the lights and other decorations ready. You may direct any questions to Bill Rhode or Jacque Johnson.
12:00pm Lights of December Parade Float Construction… We will start float construction in the church parking lot at noon. We need the help of volunteers to put the float together, stapling boughs to the float and decorating it with lights. If you have a staple gun, pliers, and wire clippers please bring any along.
4:00pm Common Prayer Party…Come gather and pray in community. Gathering at 4:00 pm with light refreshments, we will then transition via silence into exploring the new Common Prayer book's resources to guide our prayers. Following our time of prayer, we will transition to a time of casual discussion about prayer discipline before ending about 5:30pm. Even if you didn’t RSVP, you can still join us! To learn more about the book visit here (commonprayer.net). Questions to Casey Burnett (419) 345-2407.
5:00pm Lights of December Parade… The parade in downtown Boulder starts at 6:00 p.m, but we are asking those young people who would like to ride the float as characters from the first Christmas story to be to church by 5:00 p.m. for costuming. We’ll ride the Parade Float, and then everyone (adults, youth, and those just watching the parade) are invited back to Trinity for hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Fellowship Committee after the parade. Please be sure to join us!

THIS Sunday, December 5th is the Second Sunday in Advent. Our worship lessons will be Isaiah 11:1-10; Psalm 72:1-7, 18-19; Romans 15:4-13 and Matthew 3:1-12.

Sunday Notes
Faith Commitment Cards[Pledge Cards] Due…Don’t forget to bring in your completed green Faith Commitment Card from your Stewardship Packet on THIS Sunday, December 5th. We’ll be blessing them during worship and offering them to God. Also, don’t forget about the correction on the benevolence allocation of the card…"Social Ministry" appears twice, each for $1000. The second "Social Ministry" entry should be "Lutheran Family Services." Information on Lutheran Family Services is listed in the Benevolence Workbook along with the other Council Recommended Benevolences. Sorry again for the confusion and we look forward to you bringing the completed cards on Sunday. --Stewardship Committee
Giving Tree Names Available…Trinity is once again adopting families from Good Shepherd Lutheran Day Care in Denver for Christmas. On the tree on Sunday morning will be a card for each member of those families. Trinity members are asked to take as many cards as they would like, spend $30-35 on each person, and return the gifts, wrapped and in a bag, on Sunday, December 19th.
9:30 Adult Education: Gospel of Matthew…The Gospel readings for Sunday mornings this church year will come primarily from the Gospel of Matthew. As we hear the story and words of Jesus through the lens of Matthew, some of the things we ask are: Who was Matthew? When did he write his gospel? To whom and for whom did he write? What was his purpose? What are his themes? Come be part of the discussion on Sunday at 9:30am in the Chapel.
