This Week at Trinity Lutheran - December 15th, 2010

Trinit-E-Connection – This Week at Trinity Lutheran
December 15th, 2010
A Mission Outpost in a Troubled World

Work continues on Trinity’s Snowmelt System in Alleyway …Trinity’s alley is still roped off this week while the new Snowmelt system is installed. During this time, you will need to enter Trinity through the original doors off Broadway Street (doors by the elevator & the church office). Orange signs are in place outside to direct you accordingly. We recommend using the Mapleton Street entrances to enter the parking lot during this time. The alley will remain barricaded off to dry completely until THIS Sunday, December 19th. On Sunday, it will reopen for pedestrian traffic (walking into the church building). The alley will not be fully open for driving until Wednesday, December 22nd. Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility during this time of work.

Please bring back the Christmas gifts wrapped, place all gifts to the same person in one large bag, and attach the original card to that bag. (Please, only one person's gifts per bag.) If you cannot get your gift here by 11:45am, please speak to Lynn Twietmeyer or Pastor Mark.
Deadline to Bring in Caroling Items… This Sunday is your last chance to bring any items you’d like to contribute to the Caroling goody bags that we will pass out Sunday evening to Trinity’s homebound. Items (we especially need fruits, homemade goodies, etc.) can be put in the box on the table in the narthex. Also, while you are at the table, sign a Christmas card or two that will be included with the goody bags.

Notes
Christmas Tree Ornaments (THIS Sunday is the last Sunday)…As you know, two of our families, the Breeds and the Langes, were affected by the 4-Mile Canyon Fire. The Breeds lost their house and the Langes' house sustained considerable smoke and heat damage. Both families will be living away from their home this Christmas. You are invited to help bless their Christmas celebration by gifting them with a Christmas ornament for their tree. There are two boxes in the narthex through THIS Sunday December 19th, each with either "Breed" or "Lange" written on it. Please wrap your ornament gift, label it, and place it in the respective box. Thanks for your participation.

Faith Commitment (Pledge) Cards…If you missed turning in your green Faith Commitment Card, Stewardship Committee asks that you still turn those in. Drop them in the offering plate on Sunday or turn them into the church office. Extra copies of the cards are available in the narthex, too, if needed.

Pick Up Offering Envelopes… You can now pick up 2011 Weekly Offering envelopes off the table in the narthex. If you have monthly envelopes, the ones you already have continue into 2011. If you would like to change from weekly to monthly or monthly to weekly, or would like to change your Simply Giving amount, please notify the church office ASAP. Remember, according to the IRS, all donations must be received in the Trinity office or be postmarked by December 31st in order to count for 2010.
